The answer to this question is behind Port Macquarie Hastings’ ground-breaking community-owned renewable energy project, Energy Forever.
Established with a grant from the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage’s Growing Community Energy Program, Energy Forever is appealing for people in our community who care about sustainability and clean energy to sponsor a panel. Anyone can sponsor a whole panel for just $333 or donate a smaller amount and co-sponsor a panel with others.
Energy Forever’s first host site has been confirmed as St Agnes Early Childhood Education Centre. Host sites pay Energy Forever for the electricity they consume, and proceeds are returned to the community in the form of an on-going fund for a sustainability grants program. This way, over the course of the project, donations are multiplied several times.
Eighty solar panels are needed to power the first host site and current pledges take us past the halfway point. Now is your opportunity to be part of this exciting new project and sponsor a panel in Energy Forever’s first installation.
Energy Forever was incorporated in February 2016 and is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Tax-deductable business sponsorships are also available.
